Be a part of the 2012 Pa Hero Walk Hometown Parades ... and be a part of making history!

The Kiski Valley Veterans and Patriots Association will be sponsoring the "Pa Hero Walk Hometown Parades" from June 10 to June 23, 2012.  The goal for these parades is to have local towns honor there service members in a hometown event. We hope to have police, fire and EMS vehicles join the parade and in this process, and have our local heroes get the welcome home that they deserve!

We feel that having parades across our state will help the Wounded Warrior Project gain recognition, which will in turn help more injured Pennsylvania soldiers get the much needed help they deserve.

 We would like to dedicate each of the 320 miles to an Iraq or Afganistan soldier that has been injured, has served or who is currently serving, or who has made the ultimate sacrifice. We will also make exceptions to this rule if we receive your request in time.

If you have a service member that you would like to dedicate to one of the 320 miles, you can also be the "CAPTAIN" for that mile. If not, we will  assign a "CAPTAIN" for your soldier.

In order to accomplish these "Hometown Parades", we will need the following;
1. One General to oversee a parade in each town
2. One Captain to oversee each team that a veteran is honored
3. Participants to walk the parade for each service member
4. Involvement from police, fire, EMS, schools, local business in each comminity.

If you feel that you can help with any of the above, please contact Al Pulice at www.alpulice@comcast.net or call 412-862-1672.
